Klitschko Tournament

The only boxing tournament in Central and Eastern Europe in AIBA category A for youth with winners going on to glory in Europe and the world. For 19 years, the place to be for the best athletes from over 30 countries.

The path to victory starts with a single step. It doesn’t matter when and where you take it – the main thing is to find the courage to overcome your doubts. The Klitschko Foundation offers this opportunity to those who have dedicated their themselves to boxing.

Winners of the tournament 2016:

  1. Up to 49 kg: Oleg Chulyachev (Ukraine)
  2. Up to 52 kg: Orazbek Asikulov (Kazakhstan)
  3. Up to 56 kg: Dmitry Deshkevich (Belarus)
  4. Up to 60 kg: Zoravor Petrosyan (Ukraine)
  5. Up to 64 kg: Eskerhan Madiyev (Georgia)
  6. Up to 69 kg: Sadriddin Ahmedov (Kazakhstan)
  7. Up to 75 kg: Dmitry Rybalko (Ukraine)
  8. Up to 81 kg: Roman Savitsky (Ukraine)
  9. Up to 91 kg: Arkady Kartsan (Ukraine)
  10. Over 91 kg: Magomed Abdulayev (Azerbaijan)

The best boxer of the tournament turned to be Asseme Nouali (Finland), who despite the defeat in the finals (up to 60 kg), was one of the most technical boxers in the tournament.

Each year around 150 youth take part in the event. This is where the boxing world first learned of future Olympic champions Vasily Lomachenko and Alexandr Usyk, world champion Yevgeny Khitrov, Olympic bronze winner Vyacheslav Glazkov, and many other leading athletes who are bringing new glories to Ukrainian sport. And that’s only the beginning!
