Kyiv Digital

A project that keeps Kyiv’s e-services running smoothly even during emergencies and technical failures. We support the city’s backup servers and data resilience, and we modernize the digital education services that schools, students and parents use every day.

Context

E-services have long been a routine part of life for Kyiv residents: booking appointments with institutions, e-diaries, certificates, communication with schools. With war, power outages and cyberattacks, each of these services depends on whether the server infrastructure behind it can hold up.

Kyiv has a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Protocols (DRP), and Kyiv Digital provides their technical foundation. The project funds, maintains and upgrades the city’s key server infrastructure so that critical information systems have backup capacity and can recover quickly after a failure.

Mission

We believe a city should stand by its residents under any circumstances. The mission of Kyiv Digital is to give Kyiv residents stable access to e-services and to let schools, students and parents rely on digital services that keep working during emergencies. Strong digital infrastructure makes the capital more resilient and city services more accessible to everyone.

  • Who the project is for
  • Kyiv residents who use the city’s e-services.
  • Students, parents and educators who rely on school digital services every day for learning and communication.
  • City services responsible for keeping municipal platforms running.

:
Digital infrastructure resilience

We support the backup servers and data storage systems that municipal e-platforms run on. This makes it possible to duplicate critical information systems and bring services back online even after serious technical failures.

Modernizing education services

Kyiv already has analytics dashboards for schools, e-diaries for easy communication, and an online enrollment system. Within the project, specialists:

  • improve information systems in education;
  • develop e-services for student enrollment, transfer and withdrawal;
  • integrate the electronic student ID system with other city information resources.
