Registration is now open for Kyiv Youth Climate Hub, a micro-grant competition for young people in Kyiv who want to make their city greener and cleaner.

Kyiv Youth Climate Hub gives young people the resources and support to put their own environmental ideas into practice in their yards, educational institutions and public spaces.

“Cities are changed by the people who live in them. We want to give young people resources for real change, not only a chance to talk about the environment. Your own yard, school or public space is where the result can be seen and felt every day,” says Angelina Osadcha, Director of Klitschko Foundation.

A project must fit at least one of two directions.

  • More greenery: greening yards and the grounds of educational institutions, community and therapeutic gardens, places of shade and coolness, green areas for rest and similar activities.
  • Less waste: sorting stations, repair and swap workshops, eco-habit campaigns and educational workshops for peers.

The two directions can be combined.

Winning teams receive a micro-grant of UAH 45,000 to 220,000, along with training and mentoring support. At least 8 projects will be supported in total. The funds can be spent on materials and equipment, running events and workshops, necessary permits, transport and promotional materials, with at least half of the sum going to the activity itself rather than to buying things.

Who can apply?

  1. teams of at least two young people aged 15–24 who develop and lead the initiative themselves
  2. the application is submitted jointly with an applicant organization: an educational institution, a youth or civil society organization, a museum or a municipal institution that is legally registered, non-profit and has its own bank account
  3. previous experience in ecology or in grant projects is not required

The application deadline is 14 October 2026. Selection results will be announced by 13 November 2026, and the projects have to be implemented by April 2027.
